Colin Peartree comes to XPRIZE with five years of experience in communications. As a Project Coordinator on the Prize Operations team, Colin uses his experience in communications and relationship management to assist competing teams as they pursue the goals of the ANA Avatar XPRIZE. Prior to joining Prize Operations, he was part of the Marketing and Communications team and was integrally involved in the creation of the Seat 14C (now Flight 008), a sci-fi storytelling campaign told from the perspectives of 30 passengers on a time-traveling flight from Tokyo to San Francisco.

Colin is passionate about harnessing technology for good, and keen on ensuring that tech is developed with the benefit of people everywhere in mind. He is inspired by the ways rapid change and increased prevalence of technology can positively impact all aspects of society—from the individual to the masses—and is highly curious about how the experience of “being human” is affected by ever-evolving technologies.

Colin holds a B.A. in Psychology and a Minor in Creative Writing from the State University of New York at Geneseo. In his spare time, you are likely to find him playing his ukulele, rock climbing, constructing a LEGO set, or contemplating the significance of his existence.
